2016 is Drawing Near

With 2016 just around the bend, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on the past year.

I have done many things that I thought were out of my reach…pushed myself to do things that were impossible just a year ago.

I am proud of my accomplishments this year, and Grateful to many people…Those who have helped me, encouraged me, stood by me through thick and thin, especially to all of you who give me strength and keep me focused by reading my blog along with your kind words to help continue my forward momentum.

In 2016, I hope to delve deeper into the things that scare me, and continue to become stronger, so I can heal what has been torn and broken for a very long time.

I know the road will not be an easy one…the things I need to overcome sometimes seem too high to reach, but I know with the help of God, Family and Friends (both old and new)…anything is possible.

I will keep posting, writing, along with pushing myself to new heights… Hopefully hearing, and helping others through my journey!

Thanks to all of you for hearing me…I love hearing you too, and hope we will be able to hear each other throughout the new year.

Good Luck to all in 2016 and God Bless!

Thanks for Hearing!

Sincerely;

December View From My Window

This is it…My December view from the window….

p_20151204_084715.jpg

I the flowers are lovely.  They make me smile, and what little snow we have left from our first and only snow of the season, I think, makes a nice background.

Suffering with the P.T.S.D. as I do, it really helps to have something fun to look at, while I’m inside doing so many things.

My goal is to one day, get out there and decorate around the entire fence… baby steps.

I spoke about the nativity that my friends gave us so long ago, and how I put it up every year, first, without the baby Jesus…so, I thought I would take a picture or two, so you could see the wonderful gift for yourself.

p_20151204_083710.jpg

This is the picture of the Hand-Carved nativity…made from Olive Wood from the Holy Land!

The next picture needs a bit of a set-up…My youngest saw the nativity…as pictured above, and said…where is the night, and where are all the stars in the sky (he was not satisfied with the star at the top)?

Then he went to his room, came back with a dark blue ribbon he had saved, and some of the star tinsel from the small tree we had put in their room, he placed it carefully on top of the nativity….it has been there ever since…

p_20151204_084154.jpg

You may notice an ornament on the side…well that was my middle childs contribution to the nativity…it opens and you can put things into it…he said it was a gift for the Baby Jesus…like the wise men gave…so we put it on the side where the wise men are.

Now you know the full story of the Nativity in our house….it is such a special way to remember friends, past years, the children when they were young, and a way to do good deeds for others…all the while celebrating this wonderful season of Christ’s birth.

Let me know some of your traditions for whatever season you celebrate…I would love to hear you!

Thanks again for Hearing.

OBSTACLES

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-14-08-56_1.jpg

What an ominous word…Obstacle.  It conjures up images of all things big and small that litter our paths each day.  Trying to keep us from the task at hand, our goals, or just plain living each day.

But we all have the ability, the stamina, the wherewithal if you will, to overcome anything life throws at us.  We just have to Believe in ourselves enough to, pick ourselves up, brush off our failures, and keep going.  That is the key…Never Give Up!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best….

wpid-2015-09-21_13.54.10.jpg

You see, obstacles are put there to do a number of things, i.e., slow us down, make us take a detour we do not wish to take, break us completely, or be a test.

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-13-32-59.jpg   wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-13-32-36_1.jpg

Whatever the obstacle is in your life, whatever pain you are going through, all the daily trials you are facing… you can make it through…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-13-33-54.jpg

The road is not promised to be easy…but the end result is worth it.  Especially if you make it through a particularly difficult obstacle.  Those difficult ones are the hardest to overcome, and the most EXHILARATING, when they are completed.

Today, I went through an obstical…a tiny one…pebble, you could say. But for me, it felt like a boulder had been placed in my path.

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-13-32-31_1.jpg

Thankfully, I was able to work through it, find a way around the bolder, and when I came around to the other side and looked back…it felt so good, and yes, from the other side, I could see it was just a few small stones, chained together to create the illusion of being Huge.

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-13-33-23.jpg

We all have obstacles in our daily life, but with faith and a belief in yourself, and for me, through the Grace of God…we can come through them better people.  We can learn from them and continue to make better lives for ourselves and the others that walk with us along our journey through this life.

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-21-13-37-53.jpg

Good luck with your obstacles…and remember…You are being Heard!

SURVIVAL

Surviving can take many forms.  It can be many things and look very different in everyone’s life.

Websters definition of Survival is this…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-14-15-50_1_1.jpg

So, I believe that my survival, looks vastly different from your survival, and our survival looks different from the rest of the world.  We all need to be aware that there are different levels of survival in our own lives and in the lives of others.

I survive day-to-day, and at the worst of times it can  be second to second.  But my second to second is nothing like the second to second for this person…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-32-25_1_1.jpg

or these people…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-14-12-25_1.jpg

and completely different from these…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-38-29_1.jpg

I guess what I am trying to say is this.  We all survive.  We survive a work day…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-42-30_1.jpg wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-41-51_1.jpg

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-43-00_1.jpg  wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-34-58_1.jpg

We survive Loss, loneliness, abuse, war, peace, financial ups and downs, winters, summers, school, friends, family, religion, race…I can go on and on about the types and ways we all survive.

As a Human race we have survived through many things.  We have grown and developed, changed along the way (not always for the better), and hopefully we learn from the lessons survival teaches us.

Let’s all try to remember that we are not alone in our survival, though at times it may feel that way.

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-34-25_1.jpg

We need others to help us on whatever path we may take…yes, some things we must do alone, but in the long run…we survive best together.

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-14-02-19_1.jpg

So, if you see someone who is surviving, lend a hand, if you need someone while you are surviving, reach out.  Then the paths we all must walk, will not seem so lonely…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-37-34_1.jpg

we can begin to heal, and survive to see the light of another day…

wpid-screenshot_2015-09-16-13-36-21_1.jpg

Believe you are Strong, because you are, Believe you can do anything you set your mind to, because you can…The road is not going to be without its bumps, but it can be Survived!

 Thanks for Hearing!
